After years of listening to candid & inspiring conversations with those fortunate enough to ring that cancer bell, we are thrilled to introduce the accessible hoodie, designed & made right here in Derbyshire.

Inspired by our time with cancer survivors from across the East Midlands and beyond, the accessible hoodie is a fusion of ideas, feedback and emotions from individuals who have bravely undergone treatment. Many shared their appreciation for the wonderful NHS staff—ranging from dinner ladies to ward matrons—who offered unconditional care and empathy during challenging times. However, one thing seemed to be missing: a comforting “hug.”

While family and friends were always there to provide physical hugs, the moments during treatment often left individuals feeling exposed. When hygiene and access take priority for those facilitating procedures, the basic need for dignity and warmth can sometimes be overlooked, according to the many stories we've gathered.

From listening to countless personal experiences, we found that the feelings of vulnerability and the daunting prospect of needing to "strip off" in front of strangers—no matter how friendly—was a common threme. This is what drove us to create the accessible hoodie.

With feedback from real NHS staff & cancer ward staff at the Derby Royal Hospital, we’ve worked closely with patient & carer to design fashionable loungewear with a hug for adults undergoing treatment for cancer. Designed with care for those with PICC lines or treatments like chemotherapy, the accessible hoodie allows individuals to feel more in control of their cancer journey. Our fashionable, unisex, loungewear is that comforting "hug" you need on tough days at home or in the hospital when fighting cancer.

Our mission is to make the cancer journey a little less isolating & provide dignity as well as an accessible “hug” through the accessible hoodie.
